MVC with Door Removal - SR 1 NB @ Smyrna Leipsic Rd. Bridge

At 1154 the CHC along with Amb. 64, KM 5&9, and T-4 were dispatched to a reported MVC. E44-4, R44, & 44-0 responded within minutes as all units were just returning from the Smyrna/Clayton Memorial Day parade and ceremonies. E44-4 arrived within minutes and found a 2 car MVC with one vehicle requiring a door removal to gain better access to the driver. The crews from 44-4 and R44 quickly stabilized and removed the door to allow EMS units better ease to remove the pt. The pt was then removed and placed into B64 for transport to KGH with medics. The driver of the other vehicle and another occupant were also taken to KGH. A total of 3 pts were transport to the ED by ALS & BLS. The scene was placed under control by 44-16 and all units returned, turning over the scene to DSP and TMC. Units responding: E44-4, R44, 44-0, B-64, D-64, KM 5, KM9, T-4, DSP, & TMC The CHC had 53 members respond to assist and units were in service for 34 minutes. OIC was 1st Asst. Chief Jay Pappas.
