Gas Explosion inside trailer - 113 Skyline Locust Dr., Ridgewood Manor Mobile Home Park

At 1031 units were dispatched for a reported trailer fire in the Ridgewood Manor Mobile Home Park. After 44-2 went responding with 15, Kent Center advised that there had been a gas explosion inside the trailer. On arrival of 44-2, 44-15 found a single wide trailer with several of the windows blown out, and the side door of the home blown off. The homeowner advised that the stove had exploded inside. Crews found no smoke or fire, but found an odor of propane inside the residence. Crews from 44-2 and 44-3 assisted in shutting off all the utilities, and pulling the electric meter. 44-15 placed the scene under control and requested a FM unit. 44-2 stood by until the arrival of the FM unit. 44-15 also requested a county inspector, a representative from Staats gas, and the Red Cross for the lone occupant of the house. All 44 units were in quarters at 1336. OIC was Chief John L. Embert III.
