Construction Equipment Fire - 26 Bluegrass Blvd., Hickory Hollow

At 0226 Sta. 44 was alerted for a reported house fire in the a/o Blue Grass Blvd. & Sunnyside Rd. E44-2 under command of Capt. Hankins responded with a crew of 6. While en-route a Smyrna PD officer arrived on scene and advised it was a large piece of construction equipment, and a debris pile on fire in front of 26 Bluegrass Blvd. E-2 arrived to find a large forklift with the cab, and tires on fire, and a pile of vinyl siding also on fire. Crew from 44-2 & L-44 quickly extinguished the blaze. E2 remained on scene until the arrival of the FM. Crews were in service for 40 minutes, and 37 members responded. Units responding: E44-2, 44-3, L-44, T-44, R-44, SPD, and FMO. OIC Capt. Isaac J. Hankins
