Vehicle Fire - 4700 block of Haypoint Landing Rd.

At 0201 units were dispatched to a car fire on Haypoint Landing Rd., in the a/o the observation tower. E44-4 under command of Capt. Hankins,44-19, responded and arrived several minutes later to find the vehicle fully involved. The car was off the roadway with the engine compartment partially in the marsh. The crew from 44-4 attacked the fire with a 1 3/4 inch handline with class A foam, and a booster line. On thier arrival R-44's crew assisted with suppression, and gaining acces to the trunk and engine. The scene was placed under control @ 0224, and then TOT DSP on thier arrival. No one was found near the vehicle, DSP is investigating the cause. Units were in service for 1 hour, and 16 members responded. OIC was Capt. Isaac J. Hankins. Units responding: E44-4, R-44, 44-0, & DSP.
