Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation Grant Awarded
Friday, December 14, 2018

The Citizens’ Hose Company No. 1 Inc. of Smyrna, is pleased to announce that we received a grant from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation. The grant, valued at $35,959, was for purchase of a complete set of Hurst EDraulics extrication equipment.  This equipment represents the latest in extrication tool technology, and is intended to help firefighters and EMS providers remove people entrapped faster, and provide those victims with better survival opportunities!

A media event was held Friday, December 14th at our station.  Members of our fire company hosted several franchisees, members of the Firehouse Subs team, local dignitaries, as well as members of the media. There was a vehicle extrication demonstration and a formal presentation of the tools.  This presentation explained the numerous improvements and benefits of the new battery powered Hurst equipment.  Following the presentation, Firehouse Subs were served for lunch.

We want to thank the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation for their generous grant and their support to our volunteer fire company.
