At 0850 Sta. 44 and Amb. 64 were alerted for an MVC at the above intersection reported with unknown injuries. E44-4 under command of 2nd Asst Chief Hankins(44-17) and on arrival found a 2 vehicle MVC in the intersection with a tractor trailer partially into the All-Tech Auto located on the corner. Both drivers were already out of thier vehicles and were being assessed by crews from A & B 64. The crew from 44-4 and R44 secured both vehicles, laid down absorbent, and cleaned up the roadway of a large amount of debris. The reefer unit on the trailer sustained major damage and was leaking freon which was contained to a small amount. 44-17 requested that a county inspector come and assess the damage to the building. Both drivers were transported to KGH by 64 with minor injuries. Upon arrival of the county inspectors the truck was able to be removed from the building after using a sawzall to remove the aerowing from the roof, and the exhaust stacks. The building sustained mild-moderate damage to the carport/overhang area. Special Ops team Moreno was also on scene and consulted about possiblilites of the special ops team for shoring, but thier services were not needed. Once the truck was removed all 44 units cleared and turned the scene over to SPD.

CHC units were in service for 1 hour and 16 minutes, and had 27 members respond to assist.

Units responding: E44-4, R44, A&B 64, SPD, DelDot/TMC, Kent County Bldg. Inspections, & Town of Smyrna.
